Montreal, Monday, April 19, 2010 - The countdown is on: teen musicians and blues fans have until Friday, April 23, to register for the 5th edition of the famous Blues Camp presented by TD! Only five days to try your hand at being among the lucky 55 youngsters between ages 13 and 17 who will take part in a week of musical magic with a taste of the blues, at the heart of the action of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. This totally free day camp, presented by the Festival, gives young blues lovers a unique opportunity not only to improve their musical knowledge and technical skills but also to take part in a show before a live audience on one of the Festival’s outdoor stages! Too good to be true? No! All you have to do is register now at campdeblues.com and show up at the auditions, scheduled for May 1 and 2 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at École Marguerite-De Lajemmerais in Montreal, to stand a chance of being chosen.
A 100%-free musical day camp! - In tune with the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal’s philosophy of promoting music making, the Blues Camp offers 55 teens a lifetime, entirely free opportunity to dive into the blues for seven straight days and to hone their skills while learning the mysteries of style. All that and more accompanied by well-known professionals who will guide them through to the final show before a live audience on the TD stage, at the Festival’s 31st edition. What more could any teen music fan want!
How to participate
Simply register before 5 p.m. on April 23, 2010 on the Blues Camp website at campdeblues.com. Fifty lucky young people will be selected at the auditions. The Blues Camp, scheduled for June 28 to July 4, will be held again this year at the CÉGEP du Vieux Montréal right near the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal site.
