Susie Arioli Returns to Montreal at Théâtre Outremont

A few tickets still left for November 26 and 27

Montreal, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - Still riding high on the remarkable success of her latest album, Night Lights, Susie Arioli will be back in Montreal on November 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. at Théâtre Outremont, performing in the Jazz All-Year Round series.

This fifth album, released under the Spectra Musique label, marks a turning point in Susie Arioli’s career. Accompanied as always by her outstanding musical soul mate, guitar player and producer of Night Lights, Jordan Officer, Susie comes across as radiant as she integrates her own unique takes on standard jazz classics into her repertoire. Pieces such as Blue Skies, Can’t We Be Friends and Beyond The Sea feature her distinct and original sound. Solidly backed by Jordan Officer on guitar and Bill Gossage on double bass, the effervescent brunette performs with all her customary passion, and the smooth melodies on this album have won favour with the public and critics alike.

“…the singer is totally at ease. […] What we love about Susie, accompanied as always by guitarist Jordan Officer who produced the album, are her wise and daring choices. Beyond The Sea seems to have been written just for her, almost as much as The Big Hurt, which she performs with a finale similar to that of Toni Fisher in 1959.”

Journal de Montréal

“…an outstanding album, rekindling her ties with the milieu that suits her best, the standard classics of American song. Timeless songs that seem to have been written with her name on them. Her voice is warmer and more mature, and showcased even better in this perfect recording.”

Le Soleil, Michel Truchon

“…a very, very good disk from Susie Arioli.”

Première Chaîne, Érich Langlois
