Grand Événement TD in collaboration with SiriusXM
Montreal, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 — It’s now a tradition: every edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto Alcan presents a major free event on the Place des Festivals. And this year is no exception! At the mid-point of this 36th edition, the Grand événement TD in collaboration with SiriusXM on Tuesday, June 30, at 9:30 p.m. presents darlings of the Québécois audience and absolute buzzband of the moment The Barr Brothers, who will take to the TD Stage to thrill everyone with a visual/aural spectacle as you’ve never seen or heard them before! Anyone who remembers their magisterial performance under the stars two years ago, practically to the day, can tell you to expect an incredible, brilliant evening!
For this major free outdoor concert, the Montréal quartet—brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, harpist Sarah Page and multi-instrumentalist Andrés Vial—promises an unforgettably magical musical moment unveiling songs from their latest album: the fantastic Sleeping Operator. It’s a warm, enveloping sound, poised between Americana folk tinged with Delta blues and rock with African inflections, charged with a purely modernist instinct. Prepare for sheer musical transport, a hypnotic and explosive Montreal Festival experience!
The entire free outdoor program of concerts and activities of the 36th edition of the Festival will be unveiled on June 2.
The 36th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal will be held from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, July 5, 2015.
