27th edition of Les FrancoFolies de Montréal
Montréal, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 — Finally—here’s the full program of this 27th edition of Les FrancoFolies de Montréal, presented by Bell in collaboration with Ford of Canada! With 150 free outdoor shows announced today, every music is sure to find something exciting and alluring, from hip-hop to French chanson to good ol’ big-time rock’n’roll, sung in Québécois, chiac, Créole… in other words, en français, because the Francos always get the accents right, and welcome every one of them. From June 11 to 20, the francophonie comes to Montreal to let les bon temps rouler!

Julien Doré — June 18 (also June 19, 8 p.m.) — The Male Artist of the Year at the 2015 Victoires de la musique awards lands on Québécois soil and welcomes us all!
Sophie Pelletier — June 19 — Formerly on Star Académie 2012, the singer-songwriter presents her first album!

Caravane — June 12 — Discovered last year, these Québec cats return with a debut album of raw, folk-tinged rock-blues.
Pascale Picard — June 16 — Here’s a twist: this rockeuse lands at the Francos to perform en français! It’s an unprecedented show, and it’s only for us!
Salomé Leclerc — June 17 — The irresistible Salomé arrives to deliver the crisp electro sounds of her most recent and universally hailed album.

Ponctuation — June 13 — Trenchant garage-rock and punky, danceable riffs, rewired with a touch of psychedelia to electrify the crowd.
Aut’Chose with Les Muscadettes, Caféïne, Papillon and Snake from Voïvod — June 14 — The legendary Québécois rock group joins us to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Not that’s what we call a hard-hitting comeback!
Chocolat — June 20 — Welcome back this intrepid quintet led by Jimmy Hunt, at the peak of their form with a first album in 6 years, laced with wicked guitars and powerhouse rock. Pow!

Du Haut des Airs — June 15 to 18 — A show uniting the forces of Belgium (Francis Rivard), France (Frédéric Lalancette), Canada (Maryline Joly) and Switzerland (Krystel Nadeau).

Saratoga — June 20 — Michel-Olivier Gasse and Chantal Archambault join forces around a single mic for an intimate folk concert.

Louis-Philippe Gingras — June 14 — A raw, real musical language pitched between rural folk and Nashville swing. Take a trip down the side-roads with rough-hewn songs to make you laugh and cry!
Sophie Tapie — June 17 — A fully-integrated country sound, with frank and authentic songs revealing a raw talent. An artist to be discovered.
Willows — June 18 — Willows is the new stage name of Geneviève Toupin who, true to her Franco-Manitoban and Métis roots, takes us on a musical soaring journey.

Lisbonne Télégramme — June 20 — Melodies that soothe and colour the landscape while Maritza’s spellbinding voice floats heavenward like an angel. Beautiful, soothing dream-folk!

Antoine Corriveau — June 19 — One year after the unanimously acclaimed Les ombres longues, the charming Antoine Corriveau surprises us with this concert in a new format: a trio with cello and drums!
Bernhari — June 20 — One of last year’s great indie-rock revelations, with a soaring, poetic new album. Unmissable!

Dead Obies — June 15 — The new leaders of the pack in Québécois hip-hop hit back with tracks from their upcoming new album. It’s the bomb!
Cabadzi — June 19 (also June 20, 11 p.m.) — Beat box rhythms, intoxicating symphonic strings, electro-rock sounds and a deep, dark flow… the turbulent group arrives with a beautiful, powerful 3rd album.
Les Partys du Shag Molson Canadian
The Francos pop-up bar in the Savoy du Métropolis once again offers a program starring DJs and well-known figures from the music world, rolling in to shake up the dancefloor from midnight to 3 a.m., featuring (among others) Toast Dawg Brazivilain II (June 13), Dumas alias DJ Maison Columbia (June 16), Acadie Sound System with Joseph Edgar and his Acadian friends (June 17).
Prix Félix-Leclerc de la chanson 2014: the winners in performance
The Québécois winner of the Prix Félix-Leclerc 2014, Philémon Cimon seizes his opportunity to participate in a stage and will also perform live at Les Francofolies de La Rochelle in 2015. Meanwhile, last year’s French winner, Feu ! Chatterton, will perform right here as part of the Rythmes Loto-Québec series, June 17 at 10 p.m.
The Ford Rising Star: discover hot new singer-songwriters!
It’s an all-new 4th edition that turns the spotlight in the creativity of Québec’s new singer-songwriters, with Les sœurs Boulay as spokeswomen. Prizes include: a solo concert as part of Francos 2016, a mentor program, a professional recording, $2500 offered by Ford and prizes from CKOI 96,9. Finalists Éric Charland, Dominique Breault and Émilie Cornut will battle it out for the grand prize in a concert accompanied by Les Sœurs Boulay, June 20 at 8 p.m. on the Ford Stage, part of Les Soirées rock Ford series.
The return of La Foire des Francos
It was such a tremendous success last year that we’ve brought it back with bells on! And this year, the watchwords are Music, Art and Fashion! Enjoy rummaging through products from over 40 exhibitors—jewelry, clothing, promotional items, artworks, music accessories…—all accompanied by mini music sets by Olivier Belisle, Félix Dyotte, Carl-Éric Hudon, Guillaume Beauregard, Charles-Antoine Gosselin, Cindy Bédard, Ariane Zita and Gabrielle Proulx. It’s a casual open-air flea market as only Montreal and the Francos can offer! Sunday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (moved to Saturday, June 20 in case of rain), on the Place des Arts esplanade.
