Taj Mahal cancels for health reasons The Harry Manx Band joins the show!

Montreal, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 — Organizers of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal have learned that guitarist Taj Mahal has been compelled to cancel his concerts scheduled for June and July. On the advice of his doctor, he will therefore be unable to appear as part of the June 27 triple bill with John Mayall and James Cotton. But no worries—the unique Harry Manx will join the two legends to complete the highly-anticipated 100% blues evening! Yes, the award-winning multi-instrumentalist—7 Maple Blues Awards, 6 Juno nominations, the 2005 Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Solo Artist, the 2007 CBC Great Canadian Blues Award, etc.—and longtime friend of the Festival has accepted our last-minute invitation, to the delight of his large Québec fanbase! Just for the occasion, he’s reuniting his Harry Manx Band and drawn up a special set, accompanied by some of his special musical friends. Don’t miss what is certain to be a unique and memorable evening, 27 June 27, 7:30 p.m., in Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts!
