First names in the artistic program unveiled
Montreal, Tuesday, October 6, 2015 — Preparations are in full swing for the 17th edition of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, presented by RBC in collaboration with Bell, and how: organizers are already unveiling the first names in the 2016 artistic program! Tickets for French chanteuse Lou Doillon go on sale this Friday, October 9 at noon, while tickets for Québécois ‘duo’ Emilie & Ogden are already on sale!
Lou Doillon — February 19, 8 p.m., Club Soda — After a career in theatre, independent film and as a favoured subject of great photographers, Lou Doillon entered music with a bang in 2012 with her first album Places, produced by Étienne Daho, universally hailed for its originality, certified double platinum in France and awarded a Victoire de la Musique (French Grammy). For her 2nd release, Lay Low (released Friday), Doillon called on Taylor Kirk of Timber Timbre to produce new songs that plunge into a deep, heavy, luminous and very cinematic folk-blues.
Emilie & Ogden — February 20, 8 p.m., Club Soda — Emilie & Ogden is the ‘duo’ of Emilie Kahn and her harp, Ogden. After memorable performances at the NXNE festival in Toronto, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and the Iceland Airwaves festival, and as opening act for Half Moon Run and Patrick Watson, Emilie and her musicians Jesse Mac Cormack (guitar, bass, banjo and vocals) and Francis Ledoux (drums) land at MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE with songs from 10 000, a debut album on Secret City Records, launched triumphantly in a packed Gesù last week.
