Montreal, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 — Organizers of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal are delighted to announce that the Jazz All-Year Round series, presented by TD, welcomes one more name to its roster: St Germain! The French musician will perform on April 6 in Métroopolis. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 13 at noon.
St Germain — April 6, Métropolis, 8 p.m. — St Germain, alias Ludovic Navarre, is the master sound craftsman behind the albums Boulevard (1995) and Tourist (2000), a pair of hybrid jazz-electronica gems that were global smash hits at the turn of the millennium. He returns with an utterly unexpected musical joy: a first album in 15 years, including Real Blues, the first single. And Real it is: get ready for his legendary groove, enhanced with African sounds, kora, n’goni and an underpinning of Afro-Brazilian percussion. A sumptuous, exhilarating sound best experienced live.

A non-profit organization, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is pursuing its mission of disseminating and developing jazz and its musical cousins for the 15th year in a row, by reinvesting its potential surpluses in the presentation of special concerts at its Jazz All-Year Round series. With support from Canadian Heritage, it can thus offer Montrealers and visitors to the city the chance to experience the rhythms of jazz all-year round! The Festival also highlights the support of the Maison du Festival Rio Tinto Alcan, official host of the Jazz All Year Round series, as well as the support of Bell and the Hyatt Regency Montréal, partner and official hotel of the series, respectively.
