Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals — April 12, 8 p.m., Métropolis — Charismatic and beloved virtuoso Ben Harper lands in two years after his stunning duet with Charles Musselwhite at the Festival, with his perfectly singular fusion of acoustic folk, groove, blues, soul, gospel and reggae. At the height of his powers, he reunites with his band the Innocent Criminals, the renowned crew he toured the world with for a decade before parting company in 2008. Rekindling the sacred flame, the band brings us a new tour, and a new studio album expected in 2016: Call It What It Is. Absolutely essential!

A non-profit organization, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is pursuing its mission of disseminating and developing jazz and its musical cousins for the 15th year in a row, by reinvesting its potential surpluses in the presentation of special concerts at its Jazz All-Year Round series. With support from Canadian Heritage, it can thus offer Montrealers and visitors to the city the chance to experience the rhythms of jazz all-year round! The Festival also highlights the support of the Maison du Festival Rio Tinto Alcan, official host of the Jazz All Year Round series, as well as the support of Bell and the Hyatt Regency Montréal, partner and official hotel of the series, respectively.
