37th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
Montreal, Thursday, January 14, 2016 — Organizers of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal are happy to announce the arrival of Hyundai Motor Company as new official sponsor of the event. Driven by a shared love for art and a vision for universal access to culture, the two partners have signed an agreement which will allow the 37th edition of the event, presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto from June 29 to July 9, 2016, to offer even more excitement, ambience and artistic expression over the 10 days and nights of musical festivities that have won its international reputation.
“We are delighted to welcome Hyundai into our family!” declared festival CEO Jacques-André Dupont. “Hyundai has given a real boost to the Festival, which is an NPO that devotes 2/3 of its budget to maintaining a free program. This is an agreement and alliance that empowers Montrealers to cherish and be proud that they have the biggest and greatest jazz festival in the world.”
“The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is a world-class destination for music lovers and Hyundai Motor is proud to be a part of it,” said Don Romano, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. “Music, and especially jazz, is truly an inspirational form of art. For both the musicians and the audience, jazz is an interactive, creative and emotional experience, which is also what Hyundai Motor is dedicated to providing its customers.”
The agreement ensures that Hyundai Motors will exclusively sponsor a free outdoor stage at the Festival. A Hyundai VIP salon will be established near the main stage to host private events every evening. The company will also host three product display booths in high-traffic areas on the outdoor site. Hyundai will also supply vehicles to organizers to ensure Festival runs smoothly.
The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is now one of Hyundai’s major worldwide arts sponsorship partnership. Founded in 1967, Hyundai Motor Company ranks as one of the world’s automobile industry leaders. The company holds the Hyundai Motor group and is a corporate entity on the leading edge of innovation, transforming resources from molten metal to finished cars. Its exceptionally popular range of high-quality vehicles includes the Elantra, Sonata and Genesis.
Hyundai Motor has 8 manufacturing bases and 7 research and design centers. In 2015, the company sold 4.96 million vehicles worldwide. With almost 100,000 employees, Hyundai Motor continues to improve its product range with new models and confirm its dominant presence in clean technology, launching the first series production hydrogen vehicle, the ix35 Fuel Cell.
The 37th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal will be held from June 29 to July 9, 2016.
