Montréal, Monday, December 11, 2017 —In keeping with its mission to showcase concerts all year round, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal adds two new shows to the Jazz All-Year Round program series presented by TD, beginning this winter in L’Astral. For the past five years, the French Quarter project has brought the best of the French jazz scene to New York. This year, French Quarter lands in Montréal with saxophonist Yacine Boularès and his explosive debut album Ajoyo; saxophonist Samy Thiébault and his supremely energetic quartet, armed with the album Rebirth; and pianist Perrine Mansuy, with her silky touch and subtle harmonies, accompanied by trumpeter Christophe Leloil.

Too many ZoozToo Many Zooz

Born in the depths of the subway and launched into the spotlight by a series of viral videos, this New York trio whips up a monumental “bass house” that’s both raw and incredibly sophisticated. After setting L’Astral blaze last summer (and landing in a Google ad), the group returns for a second blast of unbridled horns and primitive beats.
