Three shows are scheduled with three eclectic artists that will ignite your imagination and brighten up your winter! Dominique Fils-Aimé — March 1, 8 p.m., L’Astral — Dominique Fils-Aimé will unveil Stay Tuned!, the second album of her trilogy (to be released February 22, 2019, one year after the release of her debut album). Moving on from the blues-tinged Nameless—which boldly confronted historical silences and sorrows—Stay Tuned! is both a call for and reminder of revolution expressed with the fury of red-hot jazz. Wanting to break away from the standards of traditional compositions, Dominique presents a body of work focused on liberating herself from musical forms.
Presented in collaboration with the 98.5
Whitehorse — February 23, 8 p.m., L’Astral — Ethereal folk, psych rock, spaghetti western, intergalactic blues, dark pop; Whitehorse offers a bit of everything all at once. Never content to stay in one place, it is a constantly evolving creative partnership that challenges both artists to explore new instrumental and lyrical terrain with each project. Since its debut in 2011, the band from Ontario has grown from a magnetic folk duo to a full-blown rock band. The release of their next album, The Northern South Vol. 2, a blues album, is scheduled for January 18, 2019. They will be performing as a trio this time.
Soran. Opening act : Jordann — March 2, 8 p.m., L’Astral — With his special tone of voice and charisma, Soran immediately grabbed the attention of the coaches and the public during his appearance at La Voix IV. After getting signed by Audiogram and releasing a catchy first single, this young artist will offer a show that will match his personality and unveil his latest compositions. Opening act: Jordann, a Montreal indie-pop band with hip-hop influences.
Presented by RBC as part of the Nuit blanche
