Montreal, Saturday, July 6, 2013 — Organizers of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto Alcan, are delighted to announce that The Cat Empire will perform tomorrow, Saturday, July 6, outdoors on the TD Stage on the Place des Festivals! And fans will enjoy double the pleasure, since the Australian group will play at 9 p.m. and again at 11 p.m.!
Hot on the heels of the rapturous response that greeted their pair of concerts in Métropolis as part of the Rythmes series presented in collaboration with MusiquePlus, CKOI and Virgin 96, The Cat Empire wanted to thank their Montréal fans with outdoor shows on the Place des Festivals! Making their first Festival visit since 2006, the group has proven that it hasn’t lost a trace of its onstage energy and passion. Presenting an array of classics and new songs from their 5th studio album, powered by percussion, horns, strings and turntables, these born performers — 12-year veterans of the international concert circuit — continue to uphold their well-earned reputation as the ultimate onstage party animals. Attention: this Cat is hot!
The 34th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal will run as of today to July 7. Complete program at montrealjazzfest.com.
