No question: Les FrancoFolies, presented by Bell in collaboration with Ford of Canada, will once again show summer how this is done, with magical performances delivered every evening, from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 22!

The Ford Opening Event
with Louis-Jean Cormier, Jimmy Hunt, Klô Pelgag
and Bertrand Belin
Ford Stage, in front of Place des Arts

The outdoor Francos kick off with a magisterial event gathering 4 darlings of francophone music! First up is the tenebrous troubadour with the deep, deep voice, French sensation Bertrand Belin. Next comes colourful Klô Pelgag and her debut album, L’Alchimie des monstres. The action rolls on with Jimmy Hunt’s electro-folk-rock cocktail and his Maladie d’amour (one of the great successes of 2013). And we close with magnificent jack-of-all-trades Louis-Jean Cormier—all he’s done is produce an album for Lisa LeBlanc, deliver the outdoor opening show during MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, judge the most recent edition of La Voix, co-create the new Symphonie rapaillée, and collect a gold album for Le Treizième Étage… so get ready for a four-sided party! Thursday, June 12, from 6 p.m.!

Les Spectacles Bell
9 p.m., Bell Stage, Place des Festivals

Vilain Pingouin, Les belles années

After a remarkable career during the ’90s, Vilain Pingouin return to the FrancoFolies stage after far too long away. Noted for their raw rock’n’roll and cutting-edge lyrics, the group made a joyful noise with the albums Y’é quelle heure ? and Roche et Roule. We’re delighted to rediscover their classic hits (Le train, Sous la pluie, Marche seul) and their new tracks (La faim du monde). Friday, June 13.

Marc Dupré

He’s shared the stage with Céline Dion, launched an impressive array of hits, taken home the 2013 Félix awards for Male Singer of the Year and Pop Song of the Year and earned a gold certification for his 4th album, Nous sommes les mêmes… With a CV like that, the senior coach of TV program La Voix has what it takes to deliver an unforgettable spectacle on the Place des Festivals, especially after his impressive appearance in Métropolis last year. Not to be missed! Saturday, June 14.

La Grande fête multiculturelle Hydro-Québec
Marco Calliari and guests

The charismatic Marco Calliari returns to the helm of this essential Francos multicultural rendezvous, six years after he hosted it so brilliantly. A proud and charming proponent of his Italian roots, the Québécois musician takes this opportunity to invite Paul Piché, Louise Forestier, Stephen Faulkner, Michel Faubert, Anonymus and Yves Lambert in to interpret their own songs “Italian style,” as Marco did so brilliantly with an array of Québécois classics on his latest CD, Mi Ricordo. A super-inclusive fiesta under the flag of cultural diversity! Sunday, June 15.

Karim Ouellet

Returning after a very successful charm offensive in Europe opening for Stromae, Karim Ouellet is in peak form! With his mad charisma, overflowing talent and unique style fusing folk, pop, electronica and soul, this FrancoFan darling will have no problem transforming the Place des Festivals into a massive party under the stars. Monday, June 16.

La Soirée SiriusXM

Éric Lapointe, Jour de nuit

Twenty years ago, a young musician heralded as a “true rocker, descended from Gerry and Pagliaro” performed outdoors on the corner of Ste. Catherine and Jeanne-Mance. Since then, we can say Éric Lapointe has lived up to that billing. Three years after his opening concert with the OSM, Lapointe returns to write another chapter in his voluminous Francos history with the grand Montréal premiere of the new show based on his latest album, Jour de nuit, on the main outdoor stage. It’s Lapointe, full circle… Tuesday, June 17.

Le Rendez-vous Loto-Québec

Pierre Lapointe, Punkt

We can’t ever get enough of Pierre Lapointe at the Francos… And so, all those who can’t attend his intimate concert-event in the Musée Grévin, take heart: he’ll generously present a major free outdoor performance of his show Punkt, which has conquered crowds in both Québec and France since its launch. And if previous shows by the brilliant singer-songwriter are anything to go by, we can expect no less than an unforgettable, spectacular evening, with a number of wonderful surprises. Wednesday, June 18. The show will be filmed for later broadcast by ICI Musique.

Fifteen years after his first Francos appearance, Mathieu Chédid, alias -M-, needs no introduction. Armed with 5 albums including his most recent enchanting and captivating release, Îl, the flamboyant performer brings his contagious dynamism and inexhaustible energy to the Place des Festivals for what is sure to rank as one of the most explosive nights in FrancoFolies history. -M- for Magnificent! Thursday, June 19.

Loco Locass

Every Loco Locass visit to the Francos inevitably ranks as a Party for the Ages, including their major free outdoor concert 2 years back, and that night they turned Club Soda upside down in 2013… And if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Here they come again, in tip-top form, to take over the Place des Festivals and do it up right! Friday, June 20.

Marie-Mai en festival, 10 Years of Success!

Marie-Mai was born for the stage, a natural performer who always delivers a world-class spectacle. She’s kicking off a tour of festivals to highlight her 10-year career, with a show that has simply never been seen before! Packing hits from 4 platinum albums and all the songs we love to sing and dance along to, Marie-Mai never fails to conquer a festival crowd with her contagious energy and fiery style! Saturday, June 21.

La Grande soirée de clôture Bell
La symphonie rapaillée

And of course, the Francos close with an extravagant gift of an event!  Six years after the release of the album Douze hommes rapaillés, a collection of songs inspired by the poems of Gaston Miron, the project takes on an entirely new guise: a symphonic metamorphosis co-created by Louis-Jean Cormier and Martin Léon, directed by Marc Béland. And so our 12 Hommes reassemble to interpret the songs from 2 volumes of the album arranged by Blair Thomson, supported by the musicians of the OSM and conductor Jean-François Rivest. Spectacular! With Louis-Jean Cormier, Alex Nevsky, Jim Corcoran, Michel Faubert, Richard Séguin, Vincent Vallières, Michel Rivard, Pierre Flynn, Yves Lambert, Gilles Bélanger, Martin Léon and Daniel Lavoie. Sunday, June 22.

Join us for the 26th edition of the FrancoFolies de Montréal, Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 22, 2014!
