The Bell Opening Event
Montréal, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 — As the opener of its 35th edition, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto Alcan, offers fans a concert by one of its most coveted artists of the moment: Woodkid. On Thursday, June 26 at 9:30 p.m., the French artist will take the TD Stage for the Bell Opening Event (Les Performances TD series), setting the tone for an anniversary edition that promises to be dizzyingly brilliant!
Three years ago, he set off a buzz that that hasn’t quit since the release of the superb video for Iron (over 27 million viewings on YouTube!). This versatile French artist weaves a cinematic pop that transports and moves the listener. He now ranks among those musicians who expand the horizons of the performance experience, in terms of instrumentation—bringing us an utterly new version of his show—and visuals, thanks to the projections that turn every concert into a true event, whether it’s for 2000 or 50,000 fans. After his phenomenal performances during the Festival and Jazz All-Year Round, he returns to complete the victory tour with this opening spectacle, kicking off the 35th edition! A 35th Anniversary Gift indeed!
